I was playing DC universe earlier and I did the Christmas million. Well, the first group I was in against the Orange Lantern? Absoutely fucking hopeless. I was the only controller there and two peoppe were energy hogs who kept dying. I ended up being the last person alive twice before two of them quit.
Then two people quit and we got new members, both Level 30. One was fine. One immediately called me ‘mocking noob’ because I’m Level 27.
Well, by the end I had put out the most damage (a good 1000 more than any of the others) and all the energy (due to being the only Controller.)
Smartass came second last with less than 1/3 of the damage I put out, despite damage being the entire point of his role. And he was a fucking energy hog.
Not such a noob after all. :-P
Harry glanced over at the dark shapes they made on the floor beside him. Ron had had a fit of gallantry and insisted that Hermione sleep on the cushions from the sofa, so that her silhouette was raised above his. Her arm curved to the floor, her fingers inches from Ron’s. Harry wondered whether they had fallen asleep holding hands.
Harry Potter Characters/ASOIAF Houses
→ Ronald Bilius Weasley in House Tully
Yessss I can get behind this.
Harry Potter Characters/ASOIAF Houses
→ Minerva McGonagall in House Martell
I feel like House Arryn ‘As High as Honour’ or House Mormont ‘Here We Stand’ is also appropriate, but I love her so much that I could basically see her in any house who’s words are basically ‘I am a badass with morals of steel.’ I can totally get behind House Martell. THIS BITCH IS UNBOWED UNBENT UNBROKEN FO SHO.
Remus was not allowed to play with other children, in case he let slip the truth of his condition. In consequence, and in spite of his loving parents, he was a very lonely boy.
That sound? It’s the sound of my heart breaking into a million pieces
I… I just noticed that both Harry and Neville are dressed similarly to their fathers during the battle of Hogwarts.
OH IT’S OKAY WHO NEEDS A HEART ANYWAY.
“This may surprise people but it is the truth, in many many ways Hufflepuff is my favourite house. There comes a point in the final book where each house has the choice whether or not to rise to a certain challenge, the Slytherins for reasons understandable decide they’d rather not play. The Ravenclaws - some do, some decide they won’t. The Hufflepuffs, virtually to a person, decide to stay. As too do the Gryffindors. Now the Gryffindors comprise a lot of fool-hardy and show-offy people, that’s just the way it is - I’m a Gryffindor I’m allowed to say that. You know there’s bravery and there’s also show-boating, sometimes the two go together. The Hufflepuffs stayed for a different reason - they weren’t trying to show off, they weren’t being reckless, that’s the essence of Hufflepuff house.
Now my eldest child, my daughter Jessica said something very profound to me not very many days ago, she said to me - and she by the way was not sorted into Hufflepuff house - she said to me, “I think we should all want to be Hufflepuffs.” I can only say to you that I would not be at all disappointed to be sorted into Hufflepuff house so I’m a little upset anyone does feel that way.”
STOP CALLING HER QUEEN JO IF YOU’RE NOT GOING TO LISTEN TO HER EDICTS YOU BASTARDS
“If we die, we die together.”
jim and jamie dutcher, determined to show “the hidden life of wolves”, lived for six years with a pack of wolves in the idaho wilderness of yellowstone. they came to know wolves as complex, highly intelligent animals with distinct individual personalities, who are caring, playful and above all devoted to family.
"only a select few other species exhibit these same traits so clearly," they note. "they are capable of not only emotion but also real compassion. this is the view of the wolf that we want to share. …it is an animal that cares for its sick and desperately needs to be part of something bigger than itself - the pack. the bond a wolf has to its pack is certainly as strong as the bond a human being has to his or her family."
they add, “rarely did two wolves pass each other without playfully rubbing shoulders together or exchanging a brief lick. so often we would see two wolves relaxing together, curled up beside each other.” the dutchers also recount wolf behavior rarely documented: grief at the death of a pack mate; excitement over the birth of pups; and the shared role of raising young pack members.
but as the wolves struggle to reestablish their foothold in the american west, their public demonization continues. say the dutchers, “as we see wolves, once again, being shot, trapped and poisoned, we recognize that our unique experience, living with wolves, is unlikely to ever happen again, and for that reason we feel that we have an obligation to share the lives of these wolves we with the widest audience possible.”
it’s not just the wolves at stake, but the entire yellowstone ecosystem. wolves keep the elk gene pool strong (no other predator does this); they redistribute elk herds, allowing vegetation to recover along rivers and streams, which provides food for beavers; and they keep the number of coyotes in check, which helps to maintain populations of rodents, antelopes and birds of prey.
in my senior drama class i had to play gordon ramsay for a film project but we could only film in school so we had to try to find a closed off room to use. the thing is the room wasn’t exactly soundproof and apparently someone heard us and that’s the story of how the vice principal and four freshmen walked in on me wearing a chef’s hat and yelling at my friend because her squid was so raw i could still hear it telling spongebob to fuck off
